Membership
1. Membership in the Council shall consist of member groups, meaning Christian groups known as denominations (and organized in dioceses, presbyteries, councils, etc.) ministerial associations, and regional inter-church units who wish to join together according to the purposes set forth in this Constitution.
2. Each Member (denomination, ministerial association, regional inter-church unit) shall designate a maximum of four duly elected or appointed representatives who are empowered to act in the Council in their behalf.
3. Initial membership shall be confirmed in writing, and membership shall be maintained as Members send representatives to the meeting of the Council, contribute their share to the basic annual operating budget, and otherwise subscribe to and fulfil the requirements of thisConstitution
4. Any Christian group as defined in Para. 1 not ready to assume full membership in the Council shall be eligible for participating observer status. It shall designate a maximum of four non-voting representatives to the Assembly who shall be eligible to serve on committees. The contribution of participating observer groups to the annual operating budget of the Council shall be as determined from time to time by the Assembly.
